Extracted from European Plant protection Organisation (EPPO) reports:

The Plant Health Reports for 1997 & 1998 have been prepared by IICA Office in Barbados and includes a compilation of replies to a questionnaire on quarantine pests received from several countries in the Caribbean (Antigua & Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Dominica, Dominican Republic, French Guiana, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, St Kitts & Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago). The records which are new to the EPPO Secretariat are presented below.

1997: Palm lethal yellowing phytoplasma (EPPO A1 quarantine pest):
Bahamas (on the basis of symptoms).
