Current Field of Research

• Our research group is interested in the micropropagation and genetic transformation of tropical plants with the purpose of their genetic improvement. We are currently establishing in vitro protocols for the genetic transformation of annatto (Bixa orellana L.) and marigold (Tagetes erecta L.), via Agrobacterium tumefaciens. We are also focus on plant regeneration from the transformed tissues.
