Current Field of Research

• Plant genetic improvement through traditional and biotechnological tools, with special emphasis in the in vitro androgenesis and embryogenesis of tropical fruits and ornamentals
• Plant genomics and cytogenetics
• Cellular and molecular basis of adaptation of plants to biotic and abiotic stress with a particular interest on oxidative stress.

Current Project

• Study of embryogenesis in Musa acuminata Colla: a functional genomic and cytogenetic approach.
