  • M.Sc. in Phytochemistry (January/1988 – December/1989), Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Studies (ITESM), Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. Thesis title: “Chemical study of Annona squamosa, Caesalpinia gaumeri, Talauma mexicana and Cercis canadensis”. Thesis advisor: Dr. Xorge A. Domínguez.

PRESENT RESEARCH INTEREST

  • Natural Products Chemistry and Pharmacognosy aimed to the isolation and identification of secondary metabolites with antiprotozoal activity against Leishmania mexicana, Giardia lamblia, Trypanosoma cruzi, Trichomonas vaginalis and Entamoeba histolytica produced by native plants collected in the Yucatan peninsula.
