CURRENT RESEARCH


  • We are focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms and genetic circuits underlying the ontogeny and development of plant fibers in traditional crops of Mexico. We use a combined approach of multi omics, functional genomics, and developmental biology to uncover and characterize genes involved in differentiation, development, and quality of fiber in crops such as palma jipi (Cardulovica palmata) and henequen (Agave fourcroydes).
